Bowties and Butter

Bowties and Butter, formerly known as Little Miss Funnel Cake now offers burgers (The Old Blue Burgers) that have earned it's name because of its unique delicious taste.

If you have read my blog about Little Miss Funnel Cake a few years ago, then you would know that they have been offering funnel cake desserts that perfectly match your sweet tooth. For my funnel cake experience, read here: Little Miss Funnel Cake, A dffierent Experience

For only Php99 you get to try their Old Blue burger, Php145 for The Old Blue Philly Cheese Steak and Php50 for their hand cut french fries.

For today, we ordered:

The Old Burger

French Fries

Iced Tea mint

A closer look to the Old Blue Burger

Here's Boo and I while waiting for our order:

So here's my review:

The Taste
It's delicious. The taste is not like any other burgers. I think what's unique about their burgers is their signature cream cheese and smoked bbq sauce that adds a unique taste to their burgers.

Value for money
Affordable choice for those craving for grilled burgers but don't want to spend that much.

Will I dine here again?
Yes definitely especially when parking space is available.

Chino's Deli - Flat Iron Burger

I have been craving for Chino Deli's Flat Iron burger for a few weeks now and wouldn't miss a week without it.

The burger is just so delicious especially when paired with one of their newest drink - kombucha.

The flat iron burger costs Php150 each and is big as the burgers you eat at Army Navy.

The burger comes with a few sidings of french fries along with a garlic dip.

Pair the burger with kombucha and you're all set for this meal!

And so here's my review:
The Taste
It's delicious.

Value for Money
Not too cheap but not too expensive - just right within the budget. Not bad for a Php150.

Will I dine here again?
Yes, definitely. We've been dining here every week for the past 3 weeks.

Bucket O' Shrimps and more

If you are fond of seafood, then here's another restaurant that you might want to try out - Bucket O' Shrimps and More. Bucket O' Shrimps recently opened last November 6 and is located at Jr. Borja Extension, just in front of Capistrano Complex. They open daily from 10:30am - 2:00pm and 4:30pm - 10:00pm.

This is how the place looked like when we went there this afternoon. We were the first customer to arrive actually. We did that on purpose as we wanted to avoid the large crowd and of course, the long wait. As we all know, Kagayanons always line up for newly opened restaurants so if you get there during peak hours, then it would be hard to find a table to dine.

The restaurant have a freedom wall for their customers just like ones at Redtail Shrimps and more. I get a feeling that the two restaurants are related since everything is almost the same - from the restaurant name, the menu, the freedom wall and etc. If you ask me if they are of the same owner, that I don't know for sure.

Here's the menu:

And so we ordered the Bucket of Shrimps in Captains Favourite flavor (Medium Spicy), 2 unlimited rice and 1 liter of House Blend Ice Tea.

Complimentary ice tea were given to customers who dined on the 2nd week from the start of their opening. Drinks are in mason jars like the one on the photo below. Cool!

Our orders came but unfortunately they served Captain's Choice instead of a Bucket of Shrimps. We told the lady of the issue but she explained that guy who took our order indicated Captain's Choice instead of shrimps. She apologized and explained that she will be adjusting their music volume as probably that's the reason why the guy did not hear us properly when we ordered. So since she apologized,  I expected that she'll go ahead and give us our original order but when I asked her how much time it would take for our order to be served, she asked me if I was going to get an additional order. say what? ugh! disappointing first impression!

Hubby was already pissed off and hungry at the same time so we did not argue any further. We just heard mass and we didn't want our good vibes ruined for the day. Captains Choice didn't looked bad really, it was even enticing but it's just that our expectations were set to eat shrimps. So we couldn't help but get disappointed. The lady was very apologetic though and tried to make amends by providing polite customer service.

Our total bill was Php561. And this was the aftermath:

Hand towels were also given to customers which I think is no longer needed since they already have a wash area and a hand dryer.

And so here's our verdict:

The taste
Captains Favourite flavor was delicious. It tastes sweet and has a mix of butter and coconut milk. We ordered Medium Spicy but it was not spicy at all. It could be that guy who took our order again did not hear that we said "medium spicy".

Value for Money
Not bad if you're craving for seafood and didn't have the time to cook. Also, there's an option for unlimited rice.

Am I going to dine here again?
With the recent experience, maybe.

The Good Fellas Pizza

Today the team went for pizza instead of the usual rice meal for lunch. We went to try the Good Fellas Pizza House located at the 2nd floor of Sweet Leaf at Pabayo Street, CDO.

The place looked cozy and is perfect for group of friends who would like to chitchat for a few hours. Luckily, the place was empty when we came in so we have all the place to ourselves. And with that, we took selfies all over the place like we own it!

These are the pizzas that Good Fellas has to offer.

Boo and I got the Joe Piney since Big Joe was out of stock. We also tried the Jojo Potato.

For the drinks, we ordered milk teas from Sweet Leaf at the ground floor. They can bring your drinks inside the pizza house so you don't need to wait inside the tea house.

Here are more pictures:

So here's my review:
The Taste
I'd give 6/10 for the taste. It tastes like any regular pizza for me.

Value for Money
Php200 for a double-sized pizza is affordable when you dine in a cozy place such as Good Fellas. But really for a pizza lover like me, double sized pizza is just good for one person.

Will I dine here again?
Possibly 2/10. Aside from the fact that it will be difficult for us to find a parking space on that area makes it not our preference for a pizza place.

Harbour City, Centrio

Ayala Centrio recently opened its newest fast food chain called Harbour City located at the 2nd floor just right beside Hukad.

As their slogan says "We bring Hongkong to your table", Harbour City brings its customers to a new and different way of dining. From pushing food carts around and from the clapping of each crew to get another crew's attention gives us Cagayanons an unusual dining experience. We were actually confused on how to get our order the first time. The crew who led us to our table did not quite explain that there will be pushing carts around that will be getting our order. The clapping can be annoying too at times. I've been to Hongkong though but I haven't witnessed such scenario. Maybe this is just how it is when dining in Hongkong food chains.

Their menu is limited only to a variety of dumplings (see picture below). They will not give you a separate menu immediately like those of a chinese reataurant. So better check their menu first outside before dining.

When we went there last June 27, there were a lot of people on the waiting list. Even so we didn't wait that long. Wait time was just around 5-10 minutes and there was already an available table for us. Another observation that I have here is that aside from the fast pace, you can't really stay here for long to chat with friends since there are people outside waiting for their turn to dine. I wouldn't recommend it for groupies though who would like to stay long and chat. I recommend this to people who want to dine instantly and will leave after dining.

Now for the food, Boo and I ordered their rice toppings. We were given an order sheet that lists all our orders.  The crew takes the sheet and record what you've ordered. This guy over here is the one serving the rice toppings.

We got our drinks from another push cart.

The Siomai's are on this push cart.

Pork Siomai

Quail Egg Siomai

While you can get dumplings and spring rolls from this push cart.

Vegetable Spring Rolls

Basically the push carts just roam around to give customers their orders. You can get as many dumplings and siomai as you like. So here's us on our Harbour City moment.

In total, we paid Php450.02 for the entire meal. Not bad though. The food was just right for our hungry tummies.

So here's my review:
Value for money: 9/10
Ambiance: 8/10
Food Presentation: 8/10
Taste: 7/10
Customer Service: 6/10
